Monday April 12 - ESE winds 15-20 mph, horrible conditions and there was no migration during the hour I was there.

Tuesday April 13 - light SE wind and moderate migration: 17 Long-tailed Ducks, 61 Bonaparte’s Gulls and 3 Common Loons.

That’s 5 straight days with SE to E winds and I suspect that many birds either don’t put down on Oneida Lake or just directly leave the lake from wherever they’re at

----------------------------------------------------------------------

Observation start time: 09:00:00
Observation end time: 16:00:00
Total observation time: 6.75 hours

Official Counter: Karl Bardon

Observers:

Weather:
Mostly sunny with strong W winds, 34-40 degrees F

Raptor Observations:
A steady stream of Turkey Vultures blowing side-ways along the lakeshore,
but little else

Non-raptor Observations:
6 Double-crested Cormorants

Predictions:
Tomorrow should be a good day, with sunny skies, SE-S winds 10-16 mph, and
a high of 68, but the strong S winds will likely push the migration out
over the lake in the afternoon, so the best views will probably be in the
mid to late morning

Subject: Missing March 23 report
Date: Thu Mar 25 2021 4:16 am
From: rose.deneve AT gmail.com

Dear Cornell list/Oneidabirds,

I regularly receive the daily count report from Derby Hill Bird Observatory
from hawkcount.org via the Oneidabirds list sent from Cornell.

However, there seems to have been some problem in getting out the report
from Wednesday, March 23. I and at least one other Oneidabirds member did
not receive the Wednesday report. And since I spent six hours watching the
flight at Derby Hill that day, I'd dearly like to have the final tally.

Is it possible for you to send the March 23 Derby Hill report to me? I will
then forward it to others I know that did not receive it.

Thanks very much--
Rose DeNeve
